From June 1st to 17th, 2008, I was in residence at Binaural Media, in Nodar, a rural village in northern Portugal.
There, I worked on a research process of phonographic composition related to the landscape, particularly seeking protocols to deconstruct contemplation. Several forms were produced there, including this film Line(s), based on a “transect” of the area surrounding the residency. The video, filming my feet while trying to trace the straightest possible line through the landscape, then served as a score for the sound creation. The film was shown as a video installation at the Museo Nacional Grão Vasco.
Following the projects carried out in Portugal, a text was published in the Binaural Media artist catalog: Walking, Listening, Composing.
