Press completes a "mechanistic" trilogy begun with Offset in 2013 and Mécanes in 2016. After examining the mechanical gestures and cycles of printing and typography workshops, this new creation explores the form of the record, using field recordings from a vinyl pressing plant, Rand Muzik in Leipzig.

Composed in the studios of GRM, Press is a piece of concrete industrial music. The microphonic exploration of workshop noises, "by-products" of the manufacturing process, reveals an electroacoustic material whose pulsations, rhythms, frequencies, and sequences seem to contain their own echoes of industrial and electronic music. Noise is understood as a social and cultural phenomenon, reflecting both a production process and a listening culture.

The album was co-released in 2020 by Artkillart & Universinternational.

The composition, which occupies the first side of the LP, develops in three "movements" that correspond to the three major phases of record production: electroplating, pressing, and packaging. The second side is a deconstruction of the first into 33 locked grooves, and it is then the medium that conditions the sound form, imposing the tireless repetition of the 1.8 seconds required for one rotation of the record.
