Zetein is a 20-minute piece composed from the sound recording of an empty moving train, an industrial ventilation vent, and a guitar chord borrowed from my then-roommate, Thierry Monnier

One of my first attempts at using the microphone as an instrument. Through its unusual movements and positions, it sought to reveal unexpected soundscapes, an abstract and hypnotic environment of overlapping layers, meticulous textures, and pure vibrations. A search for the materiality of sound and the random or determined rhythms of urban and industrial environments.

Released in 2001 as a mini-CD, Zetein was the first album on my label Universinternational.
