un(zéro)deux
performance and rercord - 2007
un(zero)deux is a recording of a performance held at 102 in Grenoble, in January 2007. More than just a concert, it was more of an in-situ composition. Two weeks spent at the venue allowed for the collection of recordings of the surrounding soundscape and abandoned objects, which were amplified and used as sound material. The piece was released in October 2008 by the English label Entr'acte.
It’s the performative aspect of his work that is noteworthy, going beyond the simple playing back of recorded material as a component of an installation that characterises most live
sound art. un(zéro)deux is very much a musical experience.

(…) the matrix that emerges is very alive and both busy and spacious simultaneously. Fine recording, growing on
me each listen.

Meursault is very, very good at making the best out of all the sounds he has at his disposal. (…) Should be in everyone’s collection! Listen in the dark.
